Minimalist AI

The Minimalist AI group is for those interested in taking a minimalist approach to Artificial Intelligence.
Exactly what is meant by a minimalist approach is a topic of discussion for this group!

In general, a minimalist approach should adopt the principle that 'less is more' by looking for elegant, insightful solutions to carefully posed problems.

Introductory Reading

The authors discuss the Philosophy of Information as a new area of research and ask:
Are there specific methods in computer science that can help us to approach philosophical problems computationally?

In answer, they introduce three methods: Minimalism, the Method of Abstraction and Constructionism.
As examples they cite the Turing Test [1] and Brooks' Mobots [2].
